The World Music Contest (WMC) is an international festival of music for wind and brass instruments.  Every four years, the WMC welcomes participants from all corners of the globe as they arrive in the Dutch town of Kerkrade, Netherlands to compete. The Festival of Lights officially begins the Christmas season, and is one of the most awaited events of the year (held the second Saturday evening of December).

The festival includes a parade complete with floats, street dancers and marching bands.
